When deciding which waterfall to visit while in Yosemite, most visitors choose Yosemite Falls, which is the highest in Yosemite National Park and on the continent, falling 2,425 feet from the height of the upper fall to the end of the bottom level of the lower fall. 

To get to the top, take the Yosemite Falls Trail. The trail begins near Camp 4 on the Valley Loop Trail and soon climbs in elevation through the forest, with switchback after switchback. There are superb views of Yosemite Valley, Half Dome, and Sentinel Rock from the 1-mile, 1,000-foot hike up to Columbia Rock. Then trek another half mile to witness Upper Yosemite Fall’s breathtaking views.

7. Vernal Fall and Nevada Fall Trails

Vernal Falls is a 317-foot tall waterfall. The hike down and back up is steep and tough, but the scenery and the cool breeze on your face will keep you energized.

You can also combine the Mist Trail and the John Muir Trail into a loop to reach the top of Vernal Fall (through the Clark Point cutoff) and the top of Nevada Fall. These falls come among the best places to visit in Yosemite.
